Planning and Zoning - 2017 Goals

  • Meet with representatives from the Princeton Forrestal Center on a regular basis to discuss such areas as advancing wise transportation choices and further development within the Center
  • Meet with interested parties in developing the few remaining parcels in and around the hospital redevelopment area
  • Continue to look for opportunities to maintain a vibrant Village Center which could include additional development and expansion of transit choices
  • Implement the newly adopted court-compliant Housing Element and Fair Share Plan which includes the Dey Road affordable housing project and the purchase of existing affordable housing units subject to foreclosure
  • Begin the process of updating the Township’s 2009 Master Plan in light of the township’s upcoming centennial celebration in 2019
  • Seek opportunities to add vitality to the Plainsboro Plaza by working with the ownership and tenants on issues related to signage, redevelopment potential, and internal circulation
  • Complete the Sustainable Jersey recertification process by working with the Department of Public Works to submit the required application
  • Seek funding opportunities to provide public transit for residents of Plainsboro, especially those that do not drive
  • Coordinate with the surrounding municipalities and Princeton University on programs and projects to move traffic more efficiently through the Route 1 corridor
