Happy New Year
On behalf of the team at the Plainsboro Recreation and Community Services Department we would like to wish you and your families a happy and healthy New Year. Those of you who took part in one of our programs or special events, we thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve you. For those of you who have not, we hope you take advantage of some of our unique and diverse offerings in 2017. Below are some offerings you might want to try!
Dancing and Dessert: Enjoy coffee and dessert and then take a lesson in Ballroom dancing. Please register online and pay in person with cash or check payable to Plainsboro Township. Saturday, 1/21 7:00-8:30pm $10.00 for residents/$12.00 for non-residents.
Yoga Strength: Build strength, flexibility and muscle tone using your own body weight. Emphasis is on posture, balance, abs and a healthy back. (1/11-3/15) Wed. 6:00-7:00pm. $50.00 for residents/$70.00 for non-residents.
Zumba and Toning: Enjoy aerobic fitness classes which feature movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music. Class offers a great workout! (1/14-3/18) Sat 8:45-9:45am $50.00 for residents/$70.00 for non-residents.
Inspirational Boot Camp: Using exercise bands, weights and more this class will combine strength, cardio, muscle endurance, flexibility, core and balance exercises. Tips on healthy eating will be discussed and at the end of the session a healthy meal will be prepared. Class is for beginners to advanced students. (1/12-3/16) Thurs 7:15-8:15pm $50.00 for residents/$70.00 for non-residents.

Kids Bollywood: These classes will review as well as teach new and different variations of Bollywood dance moves. Open to all levels. (1/24-3/14) Tues 6:00-7:00pm $40.00
Creative Cool Crafts: Children will create crafts using different materials. New craft projects each session. Sign up for one or both sessions. (1/9-2/6) Mon. 5:30-6:20pm $20.00
Nature Photography Club: Learn the basics of using a digital camera to capture winter throughout the Municipal Complex grounds. During the last 2-3 meetings the students will be in the computer classroom working with their pictures. They will learn some of the basic ways to create fun effects with the photos. Then they will pick their top four photos to be displayed at the nature photo exhibit in the spring. (2/2-3/16) Thurs. 4:00-5:00pm $25.00
Chess Instruction: Program designed for children who know all the rules, can play a game to checkmate and who took at least one session of our chess classes.
Learn to play the most popular game ever invented: the game of strategy and problem solving. Now is your chance to bring your game to the next level. Playing chess has proven to help students enhance their creativity, improve their power of concentration, develop and expand critical thinking skills, boost memory and retention, and achieve superior academic performance. (1/14-3/4) Sat. (see website for times) $96.00.
Tumble Time: Children ages 6-10 years old will have fun tumbling and jumping their way through this beginning gymnastics class. Children will learn basic gymnastics skills. (1/10-3/14) Tues. 4:00-4:45pm $50.00
Messy Fingers: Inclusive parent and child program - Each class will have its own theme. Parent and child will listen to a story and do a craft and/or cooking activity associated with the story. New stories and projects each session. (1/14-2/4) Sat. 10:00-10:50am $20.00
Drop in Programs:
Family Zumba: Here is a great way for the family to be active together! This fun and healthy Family Zumba program will be a fusion of international and top 40 music, with easy to follow routines. (Ages 6+) Join us on Saturday, January 7th from 5:00-6:00pm at the Recreation & Cultural Center and get fit while having fun together! No registration required.
Family Fun Night: Join us Saturday, January 14th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Plainsboro Recreation & Cultural Center, 641 Plainsboro Road. FREE EVENT!
Get the family together, grab your friends and neighbors, and head for some fun at the Recreation & Cultural Center. Enjoy time playing various board games, bingo & Wii games! Crafts will be offered and door prizes will be given out to some lucky winners! Children can enjoy relay races with our Lenape Camp Fitness teacher and can participate and/or watch different science experiments.
