The Fire Prevention Bureau is located in the Community Development Department in the municipal building. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday.

What does the code say about propane fired grills? |

Portable LP-gas cooking equipment such as barbecue grills shall not be stored or used:
• on any porch, balcony or any other portion of a building;
• within any room or space of a building;
• within five feet of any combustible exterior wall;
• opening in any wall;
• under any building overhang.
These rules do not apply to R-3 structures (one- or two-family dwelling units separated by a 2-hour fire separation assembly). |

The inspection that is performed by the Fire Official (sometimes referred to as Fire Marshall) is a maintenance inspection. In most circumstances the Fire Official will visit your place of business once a year. |
