The Fire Prevention Bureau is located in the Community Development Department in the municipal building. Office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday.

What does the code say about propane fired grills? |

Propane, and charcoal grills or any open flame cooking device shall not be stored or used:
- on any porch, balcony or any other portion of a building
- within 5 feet of any combustable exterior wall
- within 5 feet vertically or horizontally of an opening in any wall
- under any building overhang
Exception: Detatched one-and two- family dwellings.

The Fire Inspection that was performed when you first completed your building or space was performed by the Fire Sub-Code who enforces fire safety for all new work. The inspection that is performed by the Fire Official (sometimes referred to as Fire Marshall) is a maintenance inspection. In most circumstances the Fire Official will visit your place of business once a year. |
