IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING USE OF TOWNSHIP PARKS
A permit for using a picnic facility grants the applicant priority use of a specific area. Residency is required for eligibility (see front). Permits for picnic areas are granted for one time use on a first come – first served basis. Permits are not granted to minors. Use of township parks is at one’s own risk.

Applicants assume responsibility for their group’s use of the park including adherence to park ordinances and regulations. Applicants will be held responsible for fines or reimbursement for damages to township property that may result from their group’s use of the area.

Picnic area reservations do not include or imply use of any other park facilities. Additionally, permit holders should be aware that the reservation grants only use of the space. The applicant is responsible for securing any other permits that may be required (for tents, food service, rentals, etc.) Park Rangers will be happy to assist applicants in making contact with
the appropriate departments.

Plainsboro Township parks are alcohol free – alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

Soliciting is prohibited.

Open fires are prohibited and portable grills may not be brought into parks. All fires must be extinguished prior to leaving the area.

Pets must be on leashes at all times and may not be secured to trees or other structures (see park ordinances for detailed information pertaining to pet regulations). The only off-leash area is in the dog park at Community Park.

Picnic tables may not be moved from one area to another.

Vehicle owners are responsible for adherence to all traffic and parking regulations. Parking in areas other than those designated is by special permit only.

Signs / markers may be posted on the day of your activity provided they are free standing. Do not attach signs to park structures or plantings. Signs must be removed at the end of your activity.

Amusements and similar rentals require special permits.

Trash removal is the responsibility of the group. Do not leave exposed food trash which will attract rodents and wild animals.

If there are any questions or conflicts, call the Park Rangers at 799-0909 x354 or 897-7844. In the event of an emergency, contact the police department.

Park Rangers recommend…
Do bring a wagon or dolly to transport picnic supplies to your area.

Do make sure members of your group know where legal parking spaces are located.

Do feel free to decorate your area for a celebration (but remember to remove decorations prior to leaving). Exception – no confetti or similar debris.

Do feel free to set up games such as badminton or horseshoes as long as it will not interfere with others.

Use of glass containers is discouraged due to the potential for breakage.

Remember that parks close at dusk.

Your town… your parks… Help us keep them safe and clean!
