The mission of the unit is to promote community, government, and police partnerships in crime prevention, proactive problem-solving, education, and enforcement. The C.O.R.E. unit focuses on empowering citizens and businesses to address the causes of crime, the fear of crime, and social and physical disorder (quality of life issues). The C.O.R.E. unit conducts training and programs for adults, children, businesses, and organizations. It provides a police presence and assistance in the schools. The C.O.R.E. unit solves quality of life issues within the township and through crime prevention and enforcement determines the cause of the problem and strives to eliminate the underlying cause. The unit functions as the hub of the Plainsboro Police Department-wide Community Policing Philosophy. The C.O.R.E. unit is available to provide standardized presentations to citizen groups and businesses. Current C.O.R.E programs:
