Food and Water
-
Store at least a three day supply of water per household member. Allow one gallon of water per household member per day for consumption, cooking, and sanitation, stored in sanitized plastic containers. Seal water containers tightly and store in a cool, dark place.
- Store at least a three day supply of non-perishable foods per household member.
- Choose foods that require no refrigeration, preperation, or cooking, and little or no water of possible. Examples: peanut butter, jelly, crackers, trail mix, granola bars, cannedtuna/meat, canned fruits/vegetables, powdered milk, instant coffee, and tea. (Be sure to rotate food and water based on expiration dates.)
Clothing and Bedding
- One complete change of clothing (One long sleeve shirt and one pair long pants) and footwear for each household member.
- Shoes should be sturdy (Work shoes or boots.)
- Rain gear, coats, hats, and gloves.
- Extra socks, underwear, thermal under garments.
- Pillow, blanket or a sleeping bag for each household member.
