Spring Break Programs
Birds, Birds, Birds (Ages 8-9) 2 hours- Wednesday, April 20 from 10 am – 12pm. (Resident $10/ Non-resident $14.00) Join us as we build bird feeders for you to take home and then learn how to identify some of the regulars here at our own birdfeeders.

Nature Journaling (Ages 9-13) 2 hours- Thursday, April 21 from 10 am – 12 pm. (Resident $10. Nonresident $14). After making our own journal, we will learn the basics of nature journaling and then head out on the trails and see what we can add to our journal.

Events
Give Me Some Space!  (A Night under the Stars)
Saturday, April 2, 7-9 pm Free (but registration required). A Stargazing event at the Plainsboro Preserve with multiple stations for families to learn about and see the night sky. There will be telescopes, hot chocolate, S’mores, storytellers and a clear, beautiful night sky! Founders Day: We are beyond thrilled to bring Founders Day back this year bigger and better than ever. Join us on Saturday, April 30^th as we celebrate Plainsboro becoming an independent municipality. We are more excited than ever to be able to gather, make memories, enjoy amusement rides, super inflatables, crafts and games! The Wicoff House will be open for tours and showcasing brand new exhibits. All activities are free. Event parking is available at the Enterprise Business Center. We hope to see you there! The event will begin with our parade. Parade lineup is 12pm at Edgemere Ave. with festivities officially starting at 1pm. The Municipal Grounds are located at 641 Plainsboro Road Plainsboro, NJ 08536.

Do you want to march in our parade on Founders Day? Join us on Edgemere Ave at Noon as we line up to walk to the Municipal Grounds and officially kick off Founders Day! All are welcome! If you would like to march with us simply send an email to recdept@plainsboronj.com with your name and how many individuals will be walking with you.

Kids Programs
Rhythm Works Integrative Dance (Ages 3-12): 8 Classes; Mondays, April 4-June 6 from 5:00-5:45 P.M. ($80.00 Resident & Non-Resident). In collaboration with Princeton Recreation we are excited to offer this dance program which is designed for kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, other individual learning differences and physical challenges. Pre-Ballet & Creative Movement (Age 3-6): 9 Classes; Tuesdays April 5-June 7 from 11:30 A.M. -12:15 P.M. (Resident $45.00/Non-Resident $63.00). Little ones can experience their first dance class with this program which will focus on basic dance fundamentals with emphasis on allowing students the opportunity to explore their creative ability.

Amazing Tots (Age 2-3): 8 Classes; Tuesdays; April 5-May 31 from 4:00-4:30 P.M. ($144.00 Resident & Non-Resident). Amazing Tots is a guided, discovery-based program designed to help young children engage in structured physical activities tailored specifically for their age.

Virtual Introduction to Python Programming (Age 9-13): 6 Classes; Sundays; April 10-May 22 from 10:30-11:30 A.M. ($110.00 Resident & Non-Resident) The program introduces students to the fundamentals of Python programming. Python is one of the most popular, powerful, easy-to-learn and fun to work with programming language.

Junior Naturalist Club (Ages 9-13) 6 weeks- Wednesdays, 4-5:30 pm from 4-5:30pm (Resident $30/ Non-resident $42).  Join NJ Audubon Teacher Naturalist Anne Price for an afternoon of exploration.  Expand your outdoor skills and build a team spirit all while having a blast.  During our classes, participants will learn the skills of being a naturalist.

VIRTUAL Aspiring Designers of Youth Program for Girls ( Ages 9-12): Sunday, April 10- May 15, from 10 – 11:30 am. (Resident: $18/Non-resident $24) Participants will learn basics of graphic designing through zoom and the girls will get an opportunity to learn about the following topics: fundamentals, branding and identity, color typography, images, and layout and composition.

Annual Stream & Community Cleanup- (Ages 10+) Saturday, April 9 – 9-11 am.  Celebrate Earth Month by helping us keep our streams healthy as we clean up the Cranbury Brook along the Lenape Trail.  Individuals, families and groups welcome.

Adult Programs
Hybrid Low Impact Zumba (Ages 18+) 9 Classes; Tuesdays; 4/12 - 6/7, 6:30-7:15pm (Resident: $50/ Non-resident: $70).  Dance fitness routines set to Latin, contemporary and international rhythms performed at a lower intensity to avoid injury to your joints. Different modalities will be used to help boost cardiovascular endurance, muscular conditioning, balance and coordination. Forest Therapy Walk (Ages 18+) 1 class- Saturday April 23, 9:00- 11:45 am (Resident & Non-resident $30) Come join use for this unique Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku, or Forest Bathing. Forest therapy walks are designed to engage one’s senses and allow individuals to reconnect to the More Than Human World.  These walks are slow, deliberate explorations that cover on average less than a mile while benefitting participants physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Each walk is designed to be under a mile and conclude with a modified tea ceremony.  Give yourself the gift of time and harmony with a Saturday Forest Therapy Walk. Invasive Species Walk (Ages 18+) Saturday, April 23 from 10 – 11:30 am. (Resident: Free/ Non-resident: $5.00) Join us for a walk through the Plainsboro Preserve to learn about the invasive plants species we have here throughout the Preserve.  See the affects they have on our native plant communities and the landscape as a whole.
