Winter Classes & Events

Family Fun Night!: Come have a blast at Family Fun Night this Saturday, February 4^th from 6-8 pm! Play some board games, ping pong, Wii, and more. Make a craft in our art room. Girl Scouts will be hosting hands-on activities for kids and our Rec Camp fitness teacher will be here to play games and run races. We will close out the night with Bingo, raffles, and prizes! All ages are welcome. Free to attend. Children must be chaperoned.

Give Me Some Space! (A Night Under the Stars): (All Ages): Saturday, February 18 from 6:30-9:00pm (Residents: Free/ Non-Residents: $2.00 per person) A Stargazing event with multiple stations for kids to learn about and see the night sky. There will be telescopes, hot chocolate, storytellers and a clear, beautiful night sky! Please register each person in the family.

Winter CSI Class (Age 11-18): Saturday, February 18^th from 9 am-4 pm. ($100.00 Resident & Non-Resident). STEM concepts relating to Forensics and solving Crime Scenes are explored. The lecture, labs, and exercises will cover many “CSI” topics including collecting, analyzing, and classifying fingerprints, creating & examining blood spatter patterns, casting footprints, and so much more…. This is a very hands-on and interactive enrichment class for students. Current or former Detectives teach this class.

Kids DWD Bollywood Workout (Age 7-12): Fridays, 2/03-3/24 from 5:30-6:15 pm. ($40.00 Resident & $56 Non-Resident). Dance your heart out on Friday nights with our new DanceWithDeepti Bollywood Dance workouts – for kids! This class is a super fun, high-energy dance fitness workout program that brings Indian-style dance and cardio to you.

Math Wiz (Age 10-15): Mondays, 2/13-3/13 from 6:00-7:20 pm. ($30.00 Resident & $42 Non-Resident). Students will explore how mathematics is connected to their everyday life by participating in math games, and through having fun be able to expand their creative and critical thinking skills which may be applied directly in their everyday life.

Cooking With Rossy: Homemade Bread (Age 18+): Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 5:00-7:00 PM ($15.00) If you want to fill your kitchen with the smell of fresh-baked bread then you must join us for this homemade bread making workshop to learn how to make your own bread at home.

Cooking With Rossy: Fudgy Brownies (Age 18+): Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 5:00-7:00 PM ($15.00). Brownies! What are these beautiful pieces of little squared heaven that people can’t seem to get enough of? In this class you will learn how to make these delectable fudgy treats from scratch.

Let’s Celebrate Groundhogs Day! (All Ages):  Saturday, February 11 from 1:30- 3:00pm (residents: $10 per family; Non-residents $12 per family)  Join us as we celebrate Groundhog’s Day at the Plainsboro Preserve. We will learn about these weather predictors while searching for their homes and hideaways along the trail. Child must have an adult with them.  Only one person per family needs to register.

Dancing and Dessert! (Ages 18+) Saturday, February 11 from 7:00-8:30pm (Residents: $10/ Non-Residents: $12) Join us once again for a Valentine’s ballroom dancing lesson, along with coffee and Valentine’s Day inspired desserts. Ecology Club: Mystery Trail Explorers (Ages 9-14: 4 Saturdays February 18-March 11 from 10:30am-12:00pm (resident: $20/ Non-residents: $28)  Decipher riddles and find hidden objects as we take to the trails in this unconventional nature hike series. See if you can solve the hidden mysteries and puzzles we have set up for you to discover and explore. You never know what we’ll uncover – unless you join us!
