Black Bear Education Presentation by NJDEP (All ages): June 6th at 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM (Free) Join us at the Plainsboro Preserve this Friday evening as we host NJDEP Black Bear Biologist and Educator, Stephanie Getto, of the NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife. This special presentation will discuss the natural history and biology of the Garden State’s largest land mammal, bear research and management practices, and provides practical information on safely coexisting with black bears. As the black bear population in New Jersey increases and bears continue to adapt to living in more urban environments, it is important that we learn all we can about these animals as well as how to stay safe in the event we encounter bears in the wild or in our neighborhoods. The program includes an audio/visual presentation, show-and-tell items, and bear safety publications for distribution. Pre-registration is appreciated, but not required, for this free event. https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/plainsboronj/activity/search/detail/7988?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true
