A study conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice showed that 1 out of every 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Domestic violence is a problem that affects all segments of society and has a profound impact, both physically and mentally on all members of the family.
Domestic Violence Team
The Plainsboro Police Department assists the victim’s of domestic violence and seeks to provide protection and support. As part of the support system, a victim can contact the department 24 hours a day by calling 911 in an emergency or 609-799-2333. We also provide support and assistance through the Domestic Violence Team (DVRT). The DVRT is made up of civilian volunteers who can help advise and counsel the victims about their options.
