CURRENT ROAD IMPROVEMENTS IN PROGRESS:
01/16/26:
Plainsboro Rd/Centers Drive (9:00 am - 3:30 pm):
Right lane closed going EB on Plainsboro Rd between Enterprise Dr and Center Dr. Please use caution in the area
Bridge Projects
Plainsboro Road Bridge (near Walker Gordon Drive) - Eastbound Plainsboro Road remains closed for approximately 6–8 months. Westbound traffic is currently open. The bridge is expected to reopen by July 2026. Detours are posted.
Traffic Safety Improvement Projects
Plainsboro Road at Walker Gordon Drive - Installation of a new accessible curbline. Lane shifts and localized congestion anticipated. Expected completion by end of 2025.
College Road at Research Way - New sidewalk installation/flashing pedestrian crossing. Lane shifts and temporary congestion anticipated in the area. Start date is pending and construction is expected to take three months (weather permitting) once underway.
Plainsboro Road (Firmenich to Campus Road; Campus Road to Scudders Mill Road) - Milling and paving to begin immediately at the conclusion of the Plainsboro Road bridge project. Lane shifts and temporary congestion anticipated. Expected completion by summer 2026 - depending on progress of bridge project.
George Davison Road at Cranbury Neck Road - Signal and camera upgrades by Middlesex County - Installation is currently underway with a goal to alleviate congestion and improve safety. Further signal phasing evaluation is anticipated by spring 2026.
Plainsboro Road at Scotts Corner Road - Signal and camera upgrades by Middlesex County - Installation is currently underway with the goal to improve visibility and safety for pedestrians.
George Davison Road at Ashford Drive - Future - curbline extension for safety improvement, to prevent illegal shoulder use - currently under engineering review.
Walker Gordon Drive Crosswalk - Flashing pedestrian crosswalk to enhance pedestrian safety - currently under review by Department of Public Works
