After a few years of project planning, seeking grant funding and the reconstruction of the park, Mayor Cantu and other dignitaries re-opened the Mill Pond Park on Maple Avenue to the public.
The improvements include an ADA accessible kayak dock, benches, signage, fencing, an information kiosk, landscaping improvements and reconstruction of the culvert to allow water flow between bodies of water at the pond.
Joining Mayor Cantu is, from left to right, Curt Emmich of Princeton University, Deputy Mayor Ed Yates, John Hildabrant of Veolia, Committeeman Neil Lewis, Theresa Sudnick of Veolia, County Commissioner Leslie Koppel and Kristin Appelget of Princeton University. The County of Middlesex contributed $147,870, Princeton University gave $150,000, and Veolia donated a new bench for the project.
The township thanks the sponsors of the project, as well as the residents for their patience while the park was under construction.
