Mayor Peter Cantu and Committee member Neil Lewis were joined by Senator Linda Greenstein and Assemblywoman Tennille McCoy at Community Park for a status update on the construction of a new multi-use recreational area.
Demolition of the old skating rink has been recently completed and soon the construction will begin on the new recreation area. The new area includes: four pickle ball courts, an in-line skating rink, jogging track, and walking track, in addition to half a basketball court and various handicap-compliant exercise apparatus located around the outside of the rink.
"We are very thankful to the 14th Legislative district, Senator Greenstein, Assemblyman DeAngelo and Assemblywoman McCoy, for championing a $750,000 state grant to pay for the area", said Mayor Cantu and Committeeman Lewis.
The multi-use recreation area will be adjacent to the new children's playground constructed last year.
“This new recreation area will be a wonderful amenity for Plainsboro residents and will serve as a central location to exercise and to meet people. We are very happy this grant will ensure the construction of this new public space”, said Senator Greenstein and Assemblywoman McCoy.
