New Jersey American Water released a notification to the public that they are aware of changes in the taste and odor of the water reported by customers in the Raritan System (including Plainsboro). They are investigating and continuing to collect samples throughout the system. In addition, they will be flushing hydrants in an effort to help clear the system, which may result in low pressure and/or discoloration for customers. If your water is discolored, they advise to run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear.
