Affordable Housing 4th Round Plan

The Township of Plainsboro has adopted a new Housing Element and Fair Share Plan in compliance with the State's 4th Round Affordable Housing obligations. As you may know, the State of New Jersey mandates that affordable housing be provided within all municipalities. The State legislature revised the Fair Housing Act, which was signed into law by Governor Murphy in March 2024. The Fair Housing Act requires that each municipality adopt a resolution committing to its affordable housing obligations within the 4th Round (2025—2305) by January 31, 2025 and must prepare a new Housing Element and Fair Share Plan by June 30, 2025 for review and approval by the Courts.

The Township Committee adopted a resolution committing to its negotiated affordable housing obligation on 1/22/25 and the Planning Board adopted the Housing Element and Fair Share Plan on 6/16/25.
