Responsibilities
The Code Enforcement Department includes all inspection and enforcement activity in the areas of:
- Building Division - Administers permitting and inspection of construction projects for new and existing buildings, as well as other related code enforcement matters
- Fire Prevention Division - Administers and inspects all township Life Hazard and Non-Life Hazard occupancies to ensure compliance with the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code, conducts fire origin and cause investigations and provides fire safety education to the public.
- Housing Division - Conducts inspections of residential properties to ensure compliance with the Plainsboro Housing Code
- Health Division - Inspects retail food establishments and public pools for compliance with local, county and state ordinances. Addresses other public health-related issues, as necessary
